Frequently Asked Questions

We promise to provide an extraordinary, welcoming, friendly banking experience. We celebrate customer and Bank achievements. We will never compromise our integrity as we create a fortress bank for the safety and soundness of our customers and stakeholders. We will continue to be a leader in development and revitalization of our communities as we have done for more than 160 years .

Our history is long and stable. Founded in 1860, First Citizens National Bank survived and thrived through many financial storms including the Great Depression. We are the fifth oldest, locally owned, nationally chartered bank remaining in the United States. We have maintained a 5-Star Bauer rating of safety and soundness.

We offer a variety of personal checking accounts, each with unique features and benefits. Take a moment to compare our personal checking accounts.

We also offer two business checking accounts: a convenient account for businesses of all sizes and an interest-bearing account for nonprofits and sole proprietors.

The type of savings account you choose depends on your goals and how comfortably you can set money aside — without dipping back into your savings.

We offer a variety of savings accounts to accommodate your needs. Whether you want to build your kid’s college fund, enjoy enhanced liquidity, or simply save for a rainy day, we have an account for you. Compare our savings accounts to find the one that’s right for you.

There are two main things to consider when shopping for CDs: the interest rate and the term length. If you’re comfortable securing your funds for a longer period, you can earn a better interest rate! Contact us for details on CD rates and terms.

Loans

We want to make the loan approval process quick and painless. A simple installment loan can be approved in as little as 30 minutes. The process becomes smoother if you have a continuing relationship with the bank and if you have gathered the required information for the application.

Start the application process online! Select the type of Personal Loan you’re interested in applying for.

Visit the Home Mortgage Loans page to review our application checklist. Then either start the application online or contact one of our Lenders to set up an appointment.

You can start the application process online or contact one of our Lenders to setup an appointment. It is best to talk to our Lenders before you shop for a car. The lender can provide guidance and information as to the amount of financing available for certain makes and models. All loans are subject to credit approval.

First Citizens does not offer government-sponsored student loans. The student aid office of the intended college is likely the best source of information for such loans as well as nelnet.com. For information on other financing options, contact one of our Lenders.

Download our Consumer Loan Application to save time at the bank.

Mortgage loan applications are more detailed and we recommend you review our checklist of required information before getting started. One of our expert lenders will help you fill out the form when you come into the bank. Contact us to schedule an appointment.
